Learn to dive. Travel the world. Conserve marine life.
An estimated 50-80% of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface and the oceans contain 99% of the living space on the planet. Less than 10% of that space has been explored by humans. Currently, scientists have named and successfully classified around 1.5 million species. (marinebio.org)
Air pollution is responsible for 33% of the toxic contaminants that end up in oceans and coastal waters. About 44% of the toxic contaminants come from runoff via rivers and streams.
Each year, three times as much rubbish is dumped into the world’s oceans as the weight of fish caught. Fish supply the greatest percentage of the world’s protein consumed by humans and most of the world’s major fisheries are being fished at levels above their maximum sustainable yield; some regions are severely overfished.
Now more than ever, our seas need our help.
ScubaWorld PH is headed by Saar Kara Conservation Inc., a conservation organization that provides education, training, networking and support, to individuals, groups and communities in different parts of the country.
We have over 20 years of experience in conducting marine conservation work, providing opportunities to school children, fisherfolk and concerned groups in collectively protecting biodiversity, empowering local stakeholders and building a sustainable future. We are committed to teach lifelong skills and provide practical conservation experiences to hundreds of beneficiaries, allowing them the opportunity to take action against environmental impacts and to take part in a shared passion to protect our seas.
Volunteer to Take Action
The seas, its inhabitants, and the local communities that depend on it, are at the center of all of our conservation projects. We provide in-depth training to volunteers from diverse backgrounds and prepare them to become advocates of the objectives that we have been promoting
Our objectives D – I – V – E
D – Do your part in the protection of our waters, working with local communities to protect the natural world
I – Initiate engagements with fisherfolk, local communities through education and capacity building to empower them to take action and catalyze conservation
V – View marine resources through the eyes of a protector and advocate for their existence according to the most up-to-date information
E – engage through our activities in the protection and promotion of marine conservation and in building a sustainable future, where humans and the environment thrive in harmony
